TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) Program + the John N. Rogers “Ball-less and Flawless” TNR Fund

TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. Through TNR, we offer population control and humane help to feral cat colonies in the area, and keep kitties out of shelters. To learn more about TNR, visit Neighborhood Cats.

We use a three step process. First, we help you Trap your community cat using humane live traps that are triggered when they enter to eat the tasty bait. Then your furry friend is transported to a low cost, non-profit Neuter/spay clinic where they are fixed, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. Finally, after a short recovery time, your community cats are Returned to their outdoor home to rejoin their colony where they are happiest, to live healthier lives together.

Born in Honolulu, and raised in New Jersey, John N. Rogers was an animal lover for his entire life. As a child, his favorite cat Christopher jump-started his passion for our furry friends. More recently, his sidekick Keiki (Karma Cat Alumna) had John wrapped around her furry little paw! John was more than happy to also share his life with our amazing founder, Christie, their rescue pup Kona, a six-pack of rescued cats who included the original Karma of the original Karma Cat + Zen Dog and a long list of fostered cats and kittens who just needed a warm pit stop on their way to their forever homes.

John was integral to the beginnings of Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society (now Karma Cat Rescue Society), and an enthusiastic supporter and participant in Trap-Neuter-Return projects.

One of John’s other joys in life was motorcycles, riding “Wild and Free”, just how he hoped to see all feral cats be able to live. At the end of his battle against cancer, one of John’s final wishes was to continue to help TNR of cats, making sure to keep programs like this active and expanding.

Now, we are proud to have the John N. Rogers Ball-less + Flawless TNR Fund to help give those scrappy cats he loved a chance at a better and healthier life. This fund will support individuals in our community looking for TNR assistance through surgeries, vaccinations and microchips. We know John will be smiling along with us every time we hear the snap of a trap; his memory will live on in every ear tip we see.

John was the embodiment of pure organic kindness, and while he will no longer be here with us to rescue future homeless kitties, his legacy of empathy and love will live on through this fund.
