Every time someone chooses to show kindness to a cat in need, something extraordinary begins. That single moment – opening a door, offering safety, saying yes – creates a ripple of hope that stretches far beyond one adoption, one rescue, or one act of generosity.

This year, that ripple has grown stronger than ever. Because of compassionate people in our community, cats who once faced fear, hunger, or medical uncertainty are now curled on couches, napping in sunbeams, and discovering just how good life can be. Their transformations are the heart of everything hope stands for – and each one starts with someone like you.

Rico: A Little Fighter With a Big Heart

Rico arrived through the hands of a Good Samaritan – tiny, fragile, and unsure of the world, but determined. With medical care, gentle hands, and time, he found his spark again. Today he greets his new family with chirps, zooms around with cartoon-level confidence, and falls asleep as if he’s finally certain he’s safe. Rico’s journey, like so many others, was made possible because someone chose to care.

Mimi: A Tale of Determination

When Mimi arrived at Karma Cat in January 2025, she tipped the scales at 21.5 lbs – way too much for her frame. With a little help from our vet and a carefully planned weight-loss program, Mimi (begrudgingly) embraced smaller meals and playtime exercises. Volunteers cheered her on as she took laps around the adoption center, and slowly but surely, the pounds came off and her energy soared. All of Milltown might have heard us cheer when Mimi ran her first lap around the center!

From 21.5 lbs down to a healthy 15, Mimi not only transformed physically but gained confidence and sass along the way. She mastered her routine, making her the perfect companion for a calm, loving home – and she’s finally found it!

Speaking of Tails…

Tippy and Tappy came to us with two broken tails – and two stories we may never know. These unrelated kitties were in pain, but the moment we saw them at a local shelter, we knew we had to help.

Thanks to over $1,400 in surgeries, both girls are now pain-free and thriving! Their amazing fosters showered them with love, patience, and encouragement as they healed, even helping them regain confidence in walking, running, and playing with their new, streamlined “aerodynamic” tails.

Because of you, Tippy and Tappy not only found relief – they found a second chance at life filled with love, care, and comfort.

FIV+ Cats: Totally Adoptable, Totally Loved

In 2025, Karma Cat Rescue welcomed 24 FIV+ kitties – and proved once again that an FIV diagnosis doesn’t mean a cat can’t find a forever home. These special cats are just like any others in personality, love, and playfulness, thriving in homes that understand their unique needs.

Take Cosmo, for example. He found himself adopted not once, not twice, but three times in 2025 – proving that sometimes, three really is the lucky number! His final home came with an adorable kitten he’d befriended at the adoption center, and the pair are now inseparable.

And then there’s Georgia – a sweet-and-sassy girl who packed her bags and strutted straight into her forever home, where she’ll be pampered, adored, and spoiled absolutely rotten. Georgia’s adoption shows that even FIV+ cats with a cloudy eye can find the perfect match.
